Introduction to DSLR Photography Course
A fun filled four day “introduction to photography” course for those who want to learn more about photography using a DSLR or bridge camera; ideal for those that want to move away from the 'Auto' setting and understand more fully the creative modes that a DSLR camera offers.
Dawn Rogers an experienced and qualified instructor will cover a wide range of topics and technical camera features in group workshops combined with putting knowledge into practice by going out on photography shoots at different locations. The programme will be flexible enough to take account of adverse weather conditions.
A substantial amount of time each day will be spent out and about in different locations to apply and practice new knowledge and skills and for residential participants there will be plenty of free time to explore the local area.
Learning outcomes – you will develop your knowledge and understanding of:
- exposure
- histograms, aperture and shutter speeds
- camera modes and when to use them
- focusing modes
- depth of field for creative photography
- ISO white balance and the exposure triangle
- compositional tips
- which lens to use when and why
- accessories and what they do
This will be achieved as you:
- familiarise yourself with your camera settings
- cover specific issues
- apply and practice knowledge and new skills
- take, view and share images
- discuss techniques
- feedback and evaluate your own and others images
